I'm a Melbourne contemporary artist enjoying living in the bush setting of Park Orchards near the Yarra Valley, Victoria Australia.
My approach is to paint with acrylic on canvas typically on one metre square panels. I paint using multiple layers and textures creating works that are deep in colour and feel. Asian influences are present in my work through the use of common Asian objects and Asian script. I apply similar design principles to most of my works which include borders and images that float casting shadows over the works. My endeavour is to create affordable art works which are both calming as well as unique in their messaging. It is meditative art.
I also love the challenge of painting your vision and will complete commissioned artworks.
A current theme I am working on is to paint flat Australian landscapes representing stages of our current drought. Incorporated in the works are realistic images of fish in our rivers that are of different sizes dependant on the health of the environment.
Another approach I use is to paint on ply board incorporating bamboo pieces into the design to creatively frame the images.
